The Wizards Presents 2022 presentation had a lot of big announcements! I’ll be summarizing the D&D related news here.
We already knew about Dragonlance: Shadow of the Dragon Queen, arriving December 6th this year. We saw some more key art and got more details about this wartime D&D adventure set in Krynn.
Keys from the Golden Vault is a heist-themed adventure anthology book coming winter 2023.
Bigby Presents: Glory of the Giants is coming spring 2023, containing giant-related options, likely similar to what we’ve seen in recent Unearthed Arcana.
A Phandelver Campaign book is coming summer 2023, and it will expand on one of the introductory 5e adventures, “Lost Mine of Phandelver.”
The Book of Many Things is releasing fall 2023, offering new options inspired by the deck of many things! We also likely got a glimpse of that from the last UA.
Planescape is set to arrive 2023! This is a setting book bringing Sigil and Planescape to 5e. The Planescape setting contributed to a lot of the D&D 5e world building around the planar system, and it has been a highly anticipated addition to modern D&D.
Additionally, they announced an upcoming project codenamed “One D&D.” This will be an update to 5th edition rules (not a new edition), including changes to the Player’s Handbook, Monster Manual, and Dungeon Master’s Guide in 2024. They released the first playtest package centered on initial character creation, which can be read on D&D Beyond. The first playtest survey opens September 1st.
