With this artificial world at its brink, the heroes stand against the villains. And with their final blows they win their freedom. So, what happens next?

In these posts, I discuss my roguelike-inspired D&D campaign.

In this session…

The party makes their way through the dungeon for the last time. The bosses aren’t here anymore, leaving the space empty save for the usual spoils the party earns.

Then, they arrive at the arena again. They face the villains. Each of the characters refuses a secret offer to reset the game. Then, midway through the fight, the villains exert their power, and the characters are cast away into a dark void.

Within the void, they heal themselves and take a look around. Eventually they find a way out, after discovering a fragment of Lucia and fighting off mysterious, mannequin-like monsters.

Back at the arena, they challenge the villains again, who merge into one divine-like being. The party’s NPC friends cheer them on, granting them the power to stand against the final boss. And they won! Hooray!

For next time

The final sessions are at hand.

I need to:

  • Work on the denouement of the story
  • Work on a sufficiently satisfying epilogue
