The larger group wraps up their preparations. Baala’rug makes a risky plan. Allora takes the group foraging. And, at last, the group ventures into the lands of the dragonborn.

These Campaign Diary posts are where I discuss the campaign I play in and our most recent session!

Recap

Last session, Finnith received the knowledge he needs to perform a rune magic ritual to absorb the power of a rune. Baala’rug and Daear investigated further into the Draconic War in search of information about amethyst dragons. They learned that the histories of the Draconic War were inscribed into dragon scales and cast into a bottomless pit, over which the dragonborn city of Kanjiir is suspended.

In this session…

Finnith and Daear use teleport to visit Il’Khemoira, also known as “Sebastian”, in the Gray Crescent Mountains. He is the diamond dragon who is the steward of time. When they arrive, they are shown into a fine mansion by a kobold butler. Finnith catches Sebastian up on what has happened to them since their last visit, and Sebastian tells him that he can source the diamonds Finnith is looking for (to cast resurrection and all that). With the exchange complete, Finnith and Daear return back to Alame’a.

Baala’rug talks to the party about his plan to reach the bottom of the void pit: he will jump down into it. Being a monk, he hasn’t yet fallen from a high enough place to hurt him. So he thinks that he can survive the fall down. Then, using the confidant link between himself and Daear, he can return to the party with something from the void pit, which Daear can use to teleport everyone down there. If he is falling for too long, he can also use the confidant link to get himself out of the void pit.

Objectively, the plan is bonkers. The rest of the party has concerns. But Baala’rug does seem to be able to shake off even large falls, so maybe this will work?

After this, the group visits Mehmen in the city to ask about getting the teleportation circle sigil sequence for the Orosta building’s teleportation circle. This wouldn’t be a problem, except in the recent conflict with the Coven of Eternal Light, the circle was damaged. The group helps provide funds to restore the circle. Once it is complete, they can get the sigil sequence.

Allora teaches the party about the edible plants around Alame’a while Finnith completes the rune magic ritual.

At the end of the week, the modifications to Nala’s prosthetic arm are complete!

The next day, Daear teleports the group to the teleportation circle in Kanjiir. The Knights of Sand require them to stay in the city for a few days while they verify some things and complete paperwork regarding their visit. Accordingly, the knights arrange for the group to stay in an inn nearby.
