Finnith and Baala’rug fight a hollow dragon and gain entrance to the Library of the Deep. When they return to the Material Plane, they run into a plucky yet mysterious dragonborn who has some business with Nala.

These campaign diary posts are where I discuss the campaign I play in and our most recent session!

Recap

Last session, Baala’rug jumped into the giant hole underneath Kanjir. He found himself transported to another plane. Finnith later went in to help him. The two escaped the Labyrinth of the Deep and found themselves facing off against a hollow dragon.

Nala made her return to the Winder’s Way in Kanjir. There, she gathered information about the current state of things. When she left, a mysterious figure bumped into her, but she couldn’t follow them nor could she discern anything about them…

In this session…

Baala’rug fought off the hollow dragon and dragonblood ooze with some help from Finnith. This unlocked a portal which led into a cave with two large doors to the “Library of the Deep”. In this cave, the two could contact their friends again, but teleportation was blocked. So, after taking a quick rest, the two continued into the library.

There, a deep dragon named Fukara (the librarian) told them that since they had reached this library, they could sign a contract and access one record each. This contract prevents them from speaking of the library to anyone who has not done the same. Seeking information, they sign the contract.

Baala’rug reads the story of the Draconic War recorded by the last amethyst dragon, Senrichiou. Finnith finds a record of Caelynn Amastacia, the first elven historian, making some sort of pact with Senrichiou. It seems that this amethyst dragon created a space for Caelynn and future mystics (those who wield psionic power) to go when they “pass on”. Their next lead is to find the amethyst bookmark buried with Caelynn that is connected to this pact.

Their business complete, they return to the spot they were standing before they jumped into the pit. In so doing, they startle a person nearby who would have fallen in… if they didn’t summon a pair of spectral wings and fly back.

This person introduces herself as Sora, and she is an amethyst dragonborn. She cheerfully asserts that since Baala’rug and Finnith would have killed her if she wasn’t able to fly, they owe her. The first favor she calls in is to be treated to expensive hotpot right now. They meet up with the rest of the group and take Sora out to said hotpot.

It seems that she has something to say to Nala, and it’s revealed that she was the mysterious figure that she bumped into earlier. But she won’t discuss such things while they eat.
