The larger group discusses their plans in Kanjiir while they wait to be cleared by the Knights of Sand. Nala catches up with old acquaintances. Baala’rug jumps into the void pit, and Finnith has to follow him shortly after.

These campaign diary posts are where I discuss the campaign I play in and our most recent session!

Recap

Last time, the group finished up their preparations in Alame’a and teleported to the circle in Kanjiir. They were questioned by the Knights of Sand, who will have to verify their claims before they can leave the city. They escort the party to some rooms they have arranged for them to stay in at a nearby tavern.

In this session…

Nala sneaks out at night to return to the Winder’s Way, a tavern where many of her fellow assassins gather in Kanjiir. She learns that no one knows about the trouble going on with the black dragonborn clan. But, there is an organization in Kanjiir that’s stirring things up in the city’s criminal underworld. As she leaves, she bumps into a mysterious stranger. She can’t see their face, and when she tries to pursue them, they leave. On her way back, she hears a voice in her head say “boo” and sees the stranger phase into a wall of a building.

Meanwhile, Baala’rug has enacted his plan to investigate the giant hole that Kanjiir is suspended over. According to his information, the lost records of the Draconian War lie at the bottom. Baala’rug is a monk and can handle most falls, so he thinks he can make it.

Soon after he jumps down, though, Daear notices that he can’t be contacted, and senses that he is in some kind of demiplane. The group discusses what to do when Nala comes back. Finnith can use the power of runes to survive fall damage, so he will go down to help Baala’rug escape the demiplane.

Finnith finds Baala’rug in an antimagic labyrinth that constantly shifts. Baala’rug has determined the way into the next part of the maze, so he and Finnith escape into a large chamber. Out of a pile of metal rises some sort of huge, fiery, draconic creature that prepares to attack them…

And that’s where we ended the session!
