This year, SBotLL is taking a break in December! After the November 30th session (good squad getting back together!), we won’t be having regular sessions until the new year. This will give our DM a break from weekly campaign prep, and players won’t have to worry about squeezing D&D into their holiday schedules.

In the past, SBotLL has continued as normal during December, and one time we even had a holiday-special type session. We would have trouble getting everyone together for a session during these weeks, though, and end up taking an unintentional break from the campaign anyways. The Christmas Special session was fun to play, but it turned into a big scheduling issue as we tried to get the whole group together.

I haven’t decided what to do about the December 7th Curse of Strahd session, especially since finals are approaching for my players at that time, but we’ll see!

Regardless, just because we’re taking a break from the main campaign doesn’t mean we’re taking a break from tabletop gaming altogether.

This break means that Fridays are open for anyone who wants to try running a one-shot D&D adventure or another tabletop system. Other people can give DMing a shot if they’d like. We might also break into some of the new Guildmaster’s Guide to Ravnica content. Personally, I’m planning to try to run a game of Shinobigami for whoever’s available. Now that backers and pre-orderers have the final PDF, I’m excited to run it!

Are you doing anything D&D-related this holiday season? Participating in D&December, or running a special holiday-themed adventure for your players?
