Baala’rug and Allora solve a riddle. Nala and Sora get into trouble.

Recap

Last session, the group spoke with the amethyst dragonborn monk, Sora, who joined the party. This ended with a sparring match between Sora and Nala.

In this session…

The group discusses the additional information about Caelynn Amastacia and the last amethyst dragon. It seems Baala’rug’s quest to find the dragon is linked with wherever Caelynn Amastacia was buried. Daear casts legend lore and receives the phrase “Vestiges of history’s birth sleep at the peak of tragedy.” Caelynn Amastacia was the first elven historian, so it seems her remains are at the “peak of tragedy.”

Allora and Baala’rug look over the maps of the Emerald Forest, where the elves live. To the north are the Gray Crescent Mountains, the peak of which is Angorod, where the grey elves lived before their banishment to the Underdark. It seems, then, that Angorod is the next place to go to follow this lead. However, the party should finish their business in the dragonborn lands first.

Now that Nala had some time to recover their defeat, the group discusses their next steps. They’re still waiting to be able to leave the city. Most of the party leaves to get some shopping done—Baala’rug commissions a magic item made out of the remnants of the hollow dragon—leaving Nala and Sora at the inn.

After some time, Nala takes Sora to the Winder’s Way tavern to get some drinks. While there, Nala asks again if there is any word of her mentor, with little luck. After this, she is involved in several card games as she continues drinking.

The group isn’t sure where the two dragonborn are when they return. After peeking around in the nearby area, they seem to be somewhere else…

Meanwhile, Daear breaks off from the rest of the group to do his own investigation. He overhears that the party should be able to leave tomorrow. Also, it’s likely that Nala’s uncle has been alerted to their presence in this city.

He also overhears that enemy agents are converging at the Winder’s Way. He relays this to Baala’rug before heading over there himself…

Just as Nala and Sora leave the Winder’s Way and get ambushed by the enemy agents, leaving Sora injured and Nala unconscious.

It’s been a while since we had a cliffhanger, so let’s see what happens next time!
