What’s SBotLL?

That’s the name of the campaign I play in! It’s been running for over four years now. There are two parties, one on the surface and one in the Underdark. I play in the surface squad as the elf bard Finnith, and my two friends play the dragonborn rogue Nala and the tiefling ranger Allora. The Underdark group is made of the changeling rogue “Wethryn” (now “Albion”), the tiefling monk Baala’rug, and the drow ranger Eliera.

The Underdark group has arrived on the surface, unbeknownst to the surface group!

Recap

Last session, the party continued to plan for the upcoming battle with the Coven of Eternal Light. They handled some logistics around weapon upgrades and getting a suit of armor for Allora’s bear companion, Frikka. The party also traveled to Clearwater, Finnith’s hometown. There, Finnith confronted his parents about the secrets of the Fëanor family that he had discovered over the course of the campaign. The truth is out in the open, now. After that resolved, the party returned to the Awoken Flame.

In this session…

As the party returns to the Awoken Flame, they meet back up with Amuulqalo Norixius and Rupert Tiasthmus, two allies and romantic interests for Nala and Allora, respectively. Introductions go around, and the group discusses the plans already in place for the Coven battle and what our new allies can do to help.

After that, Finnith gathers Allora, Amuulqalo, Antonio, and Rupert together to help plan Nala’s birthday party. Her birthday is two days away in game time. However, Finnith doesn’t know a lot about dragonborn birthday party traditions, Antonio’s in the same boat, and Allora grew up basically alone with no experience of birthday parties. Thus Amuulqalo and Rupert are the only people with a normal experience of birthday parties.

Thankfully, Rupert can bake.

The party consults with Verge, who has the ability to find an entrance to Esmerelda’s Magic Emporium. Esmerelda is a mysterious old woman who runs a seemingly limitless store of basically anything, including magic items. There, the party purchases a set of glamoured studded leather armor for Nala. Thus the plans for her present and cake are set!
